Blazing the U.S Cannabis Trail
My mind is a raging torrent flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into waterfall of creative alternative.
Since we last spoke, the news flow’s been seasonally slow as we sail through the eye of the U.S cannabis storm and set a course for adventure, our mind on a new romance…
Sorry Charlie, I meant a new romance as in upside dance; as in we all get the metaphor Todd—eye of the storm, cyclical bear within a secular bull; clever—but STFU with that cute filler stuff and tell me something good….
Shocker Chaka, not even a smile. Everything’s funny when you’re making money but laugh in a downdraft, it’s OB. Fair nuff, I’ll try to add more value at this price point.
Industry observers were blessed last week when a Herculean 178-page U.S cannabis manifesto was released by JeffCo analyst and recent first-time father Owen Bennett, although it is yet unknown which of the simultaneous arrivals weighed more. (Mazel)
This in our view, matters. Once upon a time—I’m talking ten years ago, when men were men and sheep were nervous—we spoke about how U.S banks would one day cover U.S canna and how that would usher in a whole new era for the industry. That day is now with Jefferies, BTIG, Needham, ATB, Seaport, Roth, Craig Hallum and others locked-and-loaded on the right side of history.
The signs continue to surround anyone willing to pay attention, valuable signals that offer clues to that elusive upside fuse. Even if we were to focus an entire column on that theme—we’ll literally post a midyear review called Signposts Thursday—we can’t keep up with the rate / pace of bread crumbs and whisper mints. Just ask KD...
…but don’t ask Tricky Dick, bc liars suck and history never forgets…
But let’s focus on the good; the positive; let’s be the change we wish to see, whether that’s in-person this October in Ojai, where cannabis thought-leaders / decision-makers will gather to educate, inform and empower others while seeding a digital community…
…or supporting the cannabis-related causes important to you while snatching up some super-soft schwag to show your U.S cannabis pride… (<- click here for karma)
Or maybe you’re more the type that wants to make ur own bank so you can decide how, whom and where you wanna effect positive change? I feel that too; it’s all good as long as you pay something forward; which is why we share thoughts like this…
…math like this…
…and charts like NYSE-listed U.S cannabis ETF $MSOS, which is an effective back-door / line-jump / front-run—call it what you will but see it for what it is, which is a hella opportunity for those w the right risk tolerance / time horizon.
Look, we share what we can both here and on Twitter; it’s not always right but we will come at you straight. I’ve been writing online in real-time since Y2K and I know more than most that cycles come and go, mojos come and go, and yes people, they come and go. But my grandfather pretty much tattooed “all a man has is his name and his word,” on my forehead before he passed and that’s remained my North Star. So when I reach out to a friend over text about matters of money, much less post it to twitter…
…it’s not a pump or promotion as much as chronic TMI… as in, I’ve been sharing my stream of consciousness online for so long the lines of distinction blurred long ago.
[note: I once used an animated bull and bear to convey such thoughts—true story, Hoofy & Boo crushed—but now we use content to supplement a more sustainable business model, one that isn’t pandering for page-views or cowering to the MSM]
Point is, what is my point? I don’t know. Something like: one never knows what the future might hold or how a random act of kindness may be that proverbial pebble in the pond for someone you’ve never met.
So hit it from all sides, as they say, but do so with honesty, trust, and respect.

Note: Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is expected to release a draft of his comprehensive cannabis reform bill tomorrow. If true, it’ll get banged around for a month or so before a modified version is attached to must-pass legislation this fall.
^ we don’t know it’ll play that way but this remains our baseline expectation.
