Daily Recap

Woody Harrelson and Joe Rogan discussed the current state of cannabis on the latest episode of The Joe Rogan Experience and this clip highlights some of their thoughts.

“The whole country should be legal. The idea that America is the land of the free and criminalizes the use of a plant that’s never killed anybody is fucking crazy.” Joe Rogan

Can’t Find a Fetter Man 🎶

Senator John Fetterman’s campaign (D-PA) is promoting the senator’s pro-cannabis legalization platform, urging people to sign a petition to show “how much support he has on this issue.”

In an email blast, the senator’s team said “John stands firm in his beliefs” and that he’s “proud to be fighting for legal weed,” among other issues such as health care reform and labor unions, in the Senate.

“I might be in the Senate, but now we’re still struggling and dicking around and we should just make legal weed.” Sen. John Fetterman

Commonsense of Pennsylvania

Top Pennsylvania police and health officials said that they are prepared to implement cannabis legalization if state lawmakers move on the reform and stand ready to work with the legislature and governor’s office as the details of legislation are crafted.

Sen. Sharif Street (D), a long-time legalization champion, predicted that reform will “happen this year,” while a GOP senator said prohibition has been a “disaster” and a regulated sales model, similar to alcohol and tobacco, could be an effective alternative.

“I don’t think marijuana is any different than these other things we’ve regulated and taxed.” Sen. Gene Yaw (R)

German Shepherd

Conservative leader Friedrich Merz won the German election Sunday and is on track to take the reins of the EU’s largest economy. Politico reported that “a Merz win signals a blow for Germany’s cannabis users” but the extent of a rollback on medical and implications for phase II remain uncertain as the new coalition takes shape.
