Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was confirmed as the new head of the US Department of Health and Human Services, launching a new era in US health policy. RFK Jr., a longtime critic of Big Pharma and government health policies, will now lead the CDC, FDA, and NIH.

President Trump has vowed to let him "go wild" reforming health, food, and medicine. One of his initial tasks will be to review the previous HHS recommendation to move cannabis to S3 and having him in that seat should be a win for plant-based medicine.

Hoos Zooming Hoos

Both chambers of Virginia’s legislature passed identical legislation to legalize adult-use cannabis sales, sending the proposal to the desk of Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R).

Possession of up to one ounce of cannabis is already legal in Virginia, and the state has an existing medical market. The governor, however, indicated that he intends to veto the bills [for a sales framework] as he’s selfishly done before.

Hypocritical Oath

An American teacher freed from a Russian prison after being convicted of cannabis possession was welcomed at the White House by President Donald Trump and key GOP congressional leaders this week.

Absent from Marc Fogel’s reception was an acknowledgement of the abject irony: the cannabis he lawfully obtained as a Pennsylvania MMJ patient that landed him in hot water would have also earned him prison time in the U.S. given federal prohibition.

Premature evacuation today as I had to head to NYC for a few meetings before seeing old friends, which is good for the soul. U.S. cannabis was trading higher when I pulled the ripcord but volumes were incredibly thin and the mood remains apathetic.
