State cannabis regulators have told Congress to focus on more than just CBD and to regulate other cannabinoids, such ase Delta-8 THC, when they address hemp in the upcoming Farm Bill. This comes as the DEA is getting sued for slow-walking their process for granting licenses to grow cannabis for medical research.
Cresco CEO Charlie Bachtell spoke on an ATB Zoom, sharing: ‘September will be an important month’ (re: SAFE), ‘hearing Schedule III...perhaps hear by Y/E (HHS/DOJ), (although both depend on other priorities that could move canna to the side); and on pricing, he’s seeing ‘less compression’ but ‘isn’t ready to declare there’s stabilization.’
A study found that young people who at risk of psychosis saw symptoms surprisingly improve with cannabis use; the ‘cannabis smoke is just as bad as cigarette smoke’ myth has been debunked, as has the one about cannabis being associated with a greater risk of heart attacks.
Further, a new review has concluded that "cannabinoids stand to be one of the most interesting, safe and accessible tools available to attenuate the devastation resulting from the misuse and abuse of opioid narcotics."
